The Opportunity

You will be instrumental in driving governance, performance, and capability development, ensuring Saab remains a leader in delivering complex, high-impact programs.

About the Role:

The position will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing a strategic vision for the PMO aligned with Saab Australia’s growth objectives
  • Establishing and overseeing governance frameworks, methodologies, and tools to ensure consistent, high-quality project delivery
  • Providing portfolio-level oversight, monitoring project health, risk management, and resource planning
  • Providing centralised Project Management support services, including planning, monitoring and control, schedule and cost analysis and reporting services to support the business line projects
  • Building project and program management capabilities, including through training, sound capability planning and competency frameworks
  • Identifying, scoping, and implementing improvement initiatives to strengthen project delivery capabilities and outcomes

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid working, 9 day fortnight and part time employment (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.

About you

The successful candidate will have:

  • A proven track record in establishing and leading a centralised PMO function within a technical, engineering, or defence organisation
  • Extensive experience delivering large-scale, complex projects and programs, including those involving complex software development and systems integration
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to quickly build rapport, develop trusted relationships and find win-win solutions to critical challenges


Applicants will be required to hold or be eligible to gain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
